Executive Coaching

Customized support for leaders
to make balanced decisions and
to take practical actions.

We lead with inquiry rather than with advice.

Advice is everywhere.

It is available through your medium of choice: NYT bestsellers, 3-minute YouTube videos, and advisors of all stripes; however, in this environment of omnipresent advice, the best guidance always seems to come from within. You are the expert of your own experience, and self-authorship is a prerequisite for ensuring that decisions lead to long lasting commitments. We work as guides through a process of self-discovery and as no-judgment sounding boards to explore your most critical issues and opportunities.

Testimonials

Michael is unusually smart and voraciously curious — I admire his ability to ask insightful questions, synthesize evidence, and help leaders and managers solve problems and change behaviors.
— ADAM GRANT, Author of Give and Take & Originals

Michael brought calm, insightful leadership to bear in assessing the current business and crafting a future path. Michael is gifted at navigating tough news and gaining buy-in from the leaders who have to implement new ways of doing business. He is great to debate with and is thoughtful while being open minded to contrary facts and data. Since we started on this business turnaround eight years ago, the value of the medical device company has increased many-fold.
— HEATHER MASON, Former EVP Abbott Laboratories

Michael is as straightforward as they come. He focuses on boiling down very complex environments to their most basic elements. Based on that detailed understanding of the business, he guides clients to focus on a few critical priorities that drive the most value. His suggestions are always pragmatic and actionable.
— STEVE FERGUSON, VP Caterpillar

Michael has unique abilities: he can incisively analyze any situation and distill it to its essence; he is a good listener which allows him to understand the true interests of different stakeholders; and he is a practical problem solver. Most of all he is warm, humble, and a pleasure to work with and be around.
— RICHARD MENDELSON, Attorney and Artist
